The Pr1macard Prepaid MasterCard®, issued by Palm Desert National Bank, is for people who are finding it difficult to secure a credit card. Because this is a prepaid card funded by money cardholders deposit onto the card, approval is guaranteed. Cardholders will not be subject to a credit check or employment verification, but will have to validate their identification through a simple process. This prepaid card has an initial deposit amount requirement of $20 before cardholders can access the card. The maximum amount that can be stored on the card at any time is set at $500. Cardholders can load their cards with additional funds at participating retailers in the loading network. There are several fees associated with this prepaid card including, a card issuance fee of $12.95, a monthly maintenance fee of $6.95, in addition to ATM usage fees and other charges. Cardholders can expect to pay at least $96.35 in fees during their first year. While there may be a considerable amount of fees that come with this card, there are several free features and services that are available. These include free direct deposit, unlimited signature transactions (whereas other prepaid cards may impose limits), Internet PIN purchases and balance inquiries, bill pay, and electronic statements. The Pr1macard Prepaid MasterCard® is a good option for people who cannot obtain a traditional credit card, or who just desire the convenience of plastic for making purchases. |
